Not to be "that guy" but I actually discovered Puscifer and Tool in the same vein when I would listen to Pandora radio. I didn't even know that it was Maynard.

The music is really good. And you may consider it shit and yeah, it probably is dead but it can be an okay thing to get into.

Lots of drop D riffage and some cool time signature changes and mellow sections on later albums. The early stuff is pretty standard 90s buttrock.

They're good 90s/2000s Prog Rock/Metal if you're not into the countless Yes, Genesis and King Crimson clones.
