not buzzwording, describing. The album has generic chord progressions, lackluster vocals, over all mediocre instrumentation, and a pop rock sound that has been done so many times before, and continues to be done so many times afterwords.

No album was more innovative and influential than VU & Nico. Nobody had combined those elements, or sung about that subject matter up to that point. Music took a hard left turn because of this album and their follow up.
