Anybody have autechre or arca in lossless?
>>72618016
The tragic fate of all hidden scenes.
Anyone got a link to the Gorillaz discography?
>>72624470
Lots, actually. I'm in the same boat that I'm not a fan of AJJ. I would say definitely listen to Pat's work and projects. Wingnut Dishwashers Union is great, the album I posted is good, and his solo album "Probably Nothing, Possibly Everything" is a good listen.
Other artists I'd recommend are Mischief Brew, Larry and His Flask, Matt Pless, Jesse Stewart, Railyard Ghosts, Blackbird Raum, Border Patrol, and the Taxpayers.
Don't want to overload you so I'll take a step back real quick.
Larry and His Flask ventures a little bit outside of folk punk territory with some really great instrumentation. I definitely recommend them if you are new to the genre because it eases you in more. Recommend "Home of the Slave" and "Flags and Concrete"
Matt Pless doesn't have a ton of work available, but he's a really good lyricist and I'm a sucker for the kid's voice. Recommend checking out "Shots Fired," "cigarette song," and "Dirty Needles"
Jesse Stewart is just some shmoe, but I love him. He doesn't have much work but it's worth giving some of it a listen. I'll recommend "Marauder."
And then for Pat's work, I'd definitely listen to "From Here to Utopia" off the Live the Dream album. One of my favorite songs. Going through his discography is a lot of fun and you really see how his opinion changes and what he went through across all his different albums and projects. Lot of feels in his music, especially his solo work, especially when you know his story.
Sorry for all the words, didnt think this would be so long. But yeah, definitely check out Pat's work, and then from there you can find what else you like within the genre. There's some deviation in tempo, instrumentation, and theme that will send you to or away from certain artists in the genre.
If you have any specific questions or "what should I start with if I'm looking more for xyz" within the genre just lemme know.
>>72624470
Not that dude but another folk punk aficionado.
Although he became more straight up rock nowadays early Frank Turner is a good jump in point, Campfire Punkrock is what I'd check out
As far as more traditional folk punk: One Night Stand in North Dakota (very political and british, personal fave) , Captain Chaos/Chris Clavin/Ghost Mice (all the same dude, the last being a duo), Nana Grizol (really love it or hate it vocals with a lispy singer), Fake Problems (energetic and stylish as hell), Chuck Ragan (on the folkier side, similar to Frank Turner, pretty sure they've collabed), Sundowner (lo-fi and earnest, hopeful and positive)
That's a pretty good spectrum of what is a very broad genre and everyone has their favorites, at least something out of that might click with you
>>72624768
>>72624812
Hey thanks a lot, you've given me a lot to listen to in one post! And I've seen Wingnut Dishwasher's Union come up before so I'll be definitely listening to that.
I've listened to Nana Grizol too and that was alright.
>more proof that sharethreads are the last worthwhile thing on /mu/
>>72624812
nana grizol is definitely a love or hate. If you do love though, check out Spoonboy. Similar voice, reminds me of Nana Grizol for whatever reason.
Agree that Frank Turner is good place to start around.
>>72624934
No problem, man! I love sharing my favorite genre with people. Wingnut Dishwasher's Union is great. A few tracks might be hit or miss for ya but the whole album is a blast taken at once. "Jesus Does the Dishes," "Proudhon in Manhattan," and "My Idea of Fun" are probably my favorites off of it. I really love what he says about the anarchist/punk scene on the album and it's just so easy to get sucked into the passion and want to scream along with him.

Honestly think the man is a fucking legend. Rhinelander is great and it really does make you smile, I love how he's not just some angry anarchist, he has real values and understands the problems with punk/anarchist culture and ideology. agreed on My Idea of Fun.
I managed to grab one of the 100 lathe cuts of the "Cocoon Music" EP he did before he retired. He shipped it to me with handwritten address and the album sleeve is literally packing taped together pieces of cardboard from a record player box. (btw the vinyl itself is clear with "Departures" printed on top with the plane logo and then on the bottom "Pat the Bunny - Cocoon music") I'm so proud to own it.
>>72625223
I see Cocoon Music as the perfect companion piece to Probably Nothing Possibly Everything, Also that was Jesus Pat era which makes me happy for him
Seeing a person go through so many transformations and shifting ideals to come through the end of it a healed human being is so lovely
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouwTdLUsqc8
Having that version of the EP is awesome, treasure that
>>72625468
I absolutely will treasure it. I love so much being able to see pat's transformations across all his music, and Probably Nothing Possibly Everything and Cocoon Music are definitely a great send off and really get the tears going. "Run From What's Comfortable" really does me a number. It's so damn good. I'm so proud of pat, he's come a long fuckin way.

Two releases from John Frusciante. I'm still upset. But they make up for it for having obscure Modest Mouse and Kyuss releases.

Jeff Rosenstock's solo stuff you would love and Bomb the Music Industry had a spotty career but Get Warmer is a very solid record to try

at 3:50 it jumps from the track to a slow-core/sludge/drone cover of Pat Benatar's Heart Breaker for like 30 seconds. Its amazing but I cant find it anywhere. Its not on any uploads to youtube, I just want the cover of Heart Breaker pls.

I've listened to Jeff Rostenstock and he's ok, maybe I was listening to the wrong songs

For Jeff, I'd honestly give WORRY a try. His newest and by far the most accessible, I've noticed. If you dig it, go backwards and give We Cool? a listen. So on and so forth. (Also, all of his solo material and Bomb's is up on quoteunquoterecords.com for free/PWYC.)

Does anyone know of artists similar to Ironomi, but perhaps with violin? Ironomi does this calm, beautiful piano playing with the the odd modern sound/electronics added in - it's very relaxing. I'm curious if something analogous for violin is out there.

Anyone have this? Can't find a working link anywhere.
Was there really no data lost from the archive? I was searching for some albums I shared in the middle of last year and I can't find them in the archives at all. I remember having a conversation about them as well so the band name was dropped a few times but I can only find 3 posts from like 2013. I've been having less luck finding albums in the archive lately, I wonder if that's why.

Econoline Crush - The Devil You Know (1997)
> Alternative, Alt-Pop, FLAC
Econoline Crush are (were?) a random "alt-pop" band from Vancouver that I only know about because I had a friend up there who listened to their stuff. They put out five or so albums, the last one ("Ignite") in 2008. Ignite is fucking impossible to find, the only copy I've ever seen is on Amazon for like $70. Surefire is pretty good, as are Sparkle and Shine and The Devil You Know.

I should also probably mention that I included some weird-ass track (Track #23) that is just some random speech in what sounds like Japanese. I'm not entirely sure what it is.

Susumu Yokota - Sakura (2000)
>Downtempo, ambient, soothing
Pretty solid thing to listen to when you need some downtime. One of my favorite things to come out of Japan's musical world behind Boris and Nujabes.
