song order is everything. It can make or break an album. The album is like a story. You gotta have a clear beginning, buildup, a climax, and an ending. If you don't, it just sounds like you threw a bunch of random songs together and put no thought into an order that could make it sound good.

If it wasn't conceived in that fashion then don't bother putting too much thought into it. Do what Aphex did, just dump it all on Soundcloud. Albums are old fashioned anyway.

If you plan on releasing it as an album, then very. If it's just random songs you're putting together call it a compilation and no one will care.

Start with one of your most impact full songs, then create a gradient to your least impact full one. Then create a gradient up to your best, loudest, and greatest song you wrote for the album. Then end the album with something not quite as impact full and filled as your climax song, but still a good one.

Your least impact full song can still be impact full and filled. Just less so than the climax or the beginning.
