ITT: Personal 10/10s
Isn't the whole notion of a 'personal 10/10' kinda redundant? Can there be an objective 10/10? I'm a firm believer that there's such a thing as good and bad art, but objective perfection is a much harder argument to make.
Haven't listened to their discography past Islands

10/10 poost. just excellent.
>>72612460
Its just the culture of /mu/ that makes threads like this so popular. If the music you enjoy isn't 'patrician' or some shit that's on countless /mu/-core lists then it's seen as inferior and pleb. So to try and not be seen as inferior and labeled as lesser, posters here make these 'personal 10/10s threads, saying that "oh I know this isn't approved as objectively good by our board culture, but I still like it."
It's a pathetic way of trying to justify your own tastes and lessening your own individuality by buying into the circlejerk hivemind that this place constantly says it isn't, but really is.
Just own up to your fucking tastes, who cares if some anonymous nobody says you're from reddit or some shit. At the end of the day it's just music.
Not a bad track on the wax
it got worse with every album
i'm afraid / hype for volume 2
>>72612465
well what are you waiting for?
>>72613567
I mean
There's a lot of music out there
>>72613608
Patrician game, with a patrician soundtrack
i really don't care about being a patrician
i just like my noisy music
>>72612460

FROM THE TOP TO THE BOTTOM
>>72613502
I feel like Mega is a tad better than 0, with 1 being his worst (but that doesn't mean bad, it's pretty sweet)
>>72613849
A 10 for me as well
>>72612533
Perfect electro-pop album.
>>72613865
Great album indeed, but a 8/10 for me tho
is not related to any anime show, so weaboos ignore it... but it's too japanese for a regular audience to love it, without thinking that it's weaboo-trash. But I love it, and I'll love it forever.
>>72613792
my type of anon
>>72612460
...I thought it was 4chan language to sarcastically imply that objectivity in music actually exists...
My favorite black metal album.
>>72612594
who's up his fucking ass, anon?
>>72613880
A little piece of paper with a picture drawn
floats on down the street til the wind is gone
The memory now is like the picture was then, when the paper's crumpled up it can't be perfect again
>>72612460
An album can be objectively measured to the extent it fulfills the role of what it is and to the extent what it is is real, because anything is good to the extent that it is real. This seemingly simple premise in reality is extremely complex because it asks who's to say what's real and what does it mean for an album being what it is to be what it is for someone. You'll never arrive at what an album is for someone, but it is quite feasible to discern why it's allowed to be what it with some thought, at least sometimes. The objectively greatest album of all time is something theoretically measurable given any fact worth knowing is measurable and what an album is and the reality of what it is are nothing more than the totality of their facts. It is probably something most people would never expect, but it is there, eerily enough to think about. How close are humans from that omniscient point of view? Together we all have the answer so we can't lose faith in ourselves to not bother assembling pieces.
>>72613978
Just searched this anon. (thumbs up)
>>72613979
Sure, but it's honestly more stupid to claim that quality is purely subjective. There's certainly a level of objective quality in construction, concept and performance in music.
>>72613979
music objectively exists so it can be objectively qualified. do kids not think about this stuff anymore before opening their mouths?
It's pretty damn good.
I can't stop listening to My October Symphony.
The edgy teen in me loves this album. Never seen any comment on it on this board, good or bad.

Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero
>>72612699
Do you think Pulled Me Up is a happy song or an aggressive one?
It always comes off as hostile to me.
>>72613901

I listened to it a lot when it first came out. I haven't revisited it, but I liked it at the time
>>72612425
I don't give a fuck, I also think Knife Man and Christmas Island were 10/10 albums
>>72616750
this and kalk samen
>>72612425
>>72615334
also these two even though there are plenty of people who consider them as perfect albums.
>>72612460
10/10 just means your favorite album or an album YOU feel is flawless. Its entirely subjective like all music.
I loved every song on it
Every single fuck damn second makes me feel something strong
>>72613880

Not a bad moment, bad riff, bad anything. Perfect rock album.
>>72615374

My favorite Prog Rock album.
Peter Hamill is such an outstanding vocalist.
Criminally underrated band
>>72618014

>>72617228
AT THE CORE I'M FORGOTTEN
>>72618607
that do do do do.. part in head on/pill...
great album, but has only two tracks (first and last) that are true masterpieces, the rest is pretty mediocre compared to their stuff
My favorite summer album of all time
>>72616914
fucking this, don't give a fuck if it makes me a fantano drone
>>72618607
I love all of the pop-sounding tracks sandwiched between the two masterpieces (Head On, Float Along). Tracks like Mystery Jack and 30 Past 7 are some the bands best non-gimmicky tracks imo
>>72619566
Don't watch Fantano but I am surprised to learn he apparently liked the album? Obviously I think it's the shit but I guess I thought most reviewers would be a little put off by the un-seriousness of the album.
>>72620279
I mean he gave mouth moods a 9/10 and he has said that comedy music is underrated.
I seriously can't find a flaw.
>>72613567
waiting for that old hag fripp to let people download his shit

Why did they turn into club music? ;_;
>>72612425
literally flawless
Also lots of 70s and 80s Disco, Italo-Disco, and Funk
>>72622265
It's much better than Bug imo, or any other Dino Jr album.
>>72612443

>>72615175
i think the way he just grunts out the chorus is kind of meant to be ironic, like he's making fun of pop songs
>>72612460
The only way an album can be objectively 10/10 is if it has no flaws. Which is possible, but that doesn't mean people will love it.
>>72618636
I'd honestly say that I prefer Long Goodbye over everything else they've done, but they are a flawless band either way, fucking fantastic album. I'm so excited to see them at Pitchfork this summer
>>72612460

I prefer this, maybe it's because it was my intro to him, but I also just prefer the arrangement on this, it's more lush(?). Pink Moon is phenomenal though and probably a better album but more of my favourite Nick Drake songs are founf of Five Leaves Left
>>72625524

None of my favourite songs are on this album but I just feel as a whole album it's very coherent and always enjoy listening to it from start to finish
Beautiful in my opinion
