I bought the 7" inch 2015 but it was after Christmas, so I figured I'd save it for Christmas '16.

My dad passed away last year, so Christmas was plenty depressing enough. I left it at my mother's house and I've moved away and have no idea when I'll have a chance to grab it. I could just download the mp3 but now I'm tempted to put it off forever like some sort of time capsule.

Wasn't out of nowhere and wasn't overnight. There is such a thing as being part of a zeitgeist. There was money behind DFA from Galkin and Goldsworthy but that doesn't make it a conspiracy. They just signed all their friends to recording contracts. If it wasn't on DFA, it would have been somewhere else.

Not really, just like most of their music and I'm not really sure why.

They make above average music for sure, but something about it just doesn't resonate with me at all. Get Innocuous is their only great and truly memorable song to me.

I know he helped produce Arcade Fire's last album, so criticizing this might be a bit weird, but those two tracks sound more than AF than LCD Soundsystem to me. And not just from Reflektor, also The Suburbs.
