What's some hipster af gear a guy could make for some scratch? Big muff mock ups are over saturated right now. Mod synths look like too much trouble. Considering stand alone reverb units.

nothing

a stand alone reverb kit like a 6G15 will cost like 350 bucks to build

are you thinking about just learning how to solder and put components together on a board?

theres pretty much nothing you can build from scratch that will be less expensive than just buying something already made

And can't find The Loar anywhere anymore... Anyone got any recommendations? Talking low end budget
>>
>>72607722
I plugged it into some chord finders and they all popped back Xsus2. The 2 and the 9 are the same note, as I'm sure you're aware. Makes more sense then 5sus9, honestly. I don't think about chord construction anymore, I tend to forget a sus2 IS just 1 2 5, so noting the 5 is redundant. You could probably get away wth saying X5add9 as well. I mean, it doesn't really matter unless your transcribing or composing and notating for other musicians.
>>

Hey, /gg/.

I just got from cleaning up and rearranging the furniture my grandma's house to get it ready for her to come back to. That's where I was yesterday and today. The last time I was there she had internet and I assumed she still did but she doesn't. She switched exclusively to a cell phone and cut off her landline which was bundled with her internet and cable. Why I don't know there's hardly any cell reception where she lives. Nowhere near enough for me to hotspot my phone anyway.

Long story short my Mom says I'm going to be living with her for the foreseeable future so my shitpost circus will be coming to a screeching halt on the 16th.
>>

Maybe, the first one will probably be unplayable as well so I'll just strip it and then throw the rest in the fire pit.

She lives two towns over and there's literally nothing there. The fucking gas station there was closed before we came home tonight.

That's the thing about what you suggested, you'd have to have a phone bill with the free dial up service. I argued with my Mom all day today about this. I'm supposed to be there to help her get around but if we have an emergency I can't even reliably call an ambulance on my cell there. She's on a social security which pays jack shit so she started cutting out unnecessary spending which started with her landline, internet, and cable.

I can put up with a lot of shit but not having a phone or the internet's going to throw me for a loop.

You're spending all this money and you can't even call an ambulance for your sick grandmother. You have to drive into town to even set up her doctor appointments. "Why am I paying for this phone I can't even use?" and "I already talked to [rival competitor] and they gurantee coverage in this area." Some good things as well, "i've been with you awhile and i'm more than satisfied when i actually have service."

Some providers won't, but an old boss of mine got one from sprint. Another guy i know out in the boonies got one from them too.

It's like Noel is jealous of Liam because he can acts like a douche with that rock n roll attitude, and Liam feels like shit because his songwriting is pathetic compared to Noel
they can't work without each other, they need that kind of competition

God damn bro, you have no idea. I've waited 2 minutes for pictures to LOAD, not download. The highwst download speed I ever got was 3kb/s with AOL 9.0. I havent used dial up since 2004, it's shit. Think about that, 40 minutes to download 1 song. Forget things like youtube. Even html.sites load slow. But, it's workable.

Nowadays it might be better because servers and computers are on a whole new level, but I doubt it's much.

I have a Crate (don't know which model because i'm a beginner) and it has a clean channel with a Low, Mid, and High setting, but the Overdrive/Distortion channel has 2 gain knobs, 1 shape knob, and a Low and High knob. How do i even go about setting it up?

>>
>>72610508

I have something similar, I think. If it's anything like the GT120, stay away from the high gain channel entirely, it's ass.

Scoop the mids, maybe about a third of the way up on the lows, easy on the highs? Again, stay away from the High Gain channel, just crank the bass and gain a little more on the crunch channel if you want a more metal thing.

It's been a while since I touched mine, it's a begrudging backup for my AC30.
Anyway, it's still gonna sound fizzy and sterile as fuck, no matter what you do.

And they sound alright? ~$100 is fine if so

I'm just wondering if the absolute low end of ~$60-$70 are even worth considering. Not a bassist so penny pinching as much as possible
>>
>>72612480
The sound on most cheap basses is gonna be fairly similar, but luckily a simple ceramic P pickup, or ceramic J-bass with both pickups on full, actually sounds fine. What will fuck it up is the strings, and potentially the action. So yeah, standard guitar advice basically applies. Just put some strings on and set it up.

Try to figure out the sound you want before you buy your strings. Bass strings often have a greater impact on the sound than the rest of the instrument.

Ceramic pickups are very common in basses, especially active basses, regardless of price. However fender basses traditionally had alnico pickups, so just do not be too surprised when your bass sounds different from what you might expect. Still sounds good though, just different.
>>
>>72612480
$60 basses will sound the same, but the one I had literally fell apart on me. Worth spending the extra money for SX or comparable. Also, you don't want neck whip on a bass. Intonation is pretty important on bass. So a sturdy neck will pretty much sound better.

You have to stay in tempo to dance all you need is the chord as a voicing now start dancing to a beat and dance to the chords/notes you play and hum it in a fashion where you can put them together if you can't dance to it you can't play it because it's shit but if you can dance to it and have fun while playing it it's some good shit. So its a good idea to make a guitar body and neck made out of resonant glue instead of wood

I want a looper / sampler for weird shit. I know Nick Reinhart uses a DL4 due to the reverse / half-speed function.

Is there a better option out there? I see the DL4 used all the time for sampling by pros, despite its age.

Chorus has to have some kind of contrast to the verse riff. Usually it's 3 BIG chords if you're writing in 4/4. Make it sound large.
