Honestly, can an SG get the hard rock / megadeth sound?

spamming threads is against the rules brother. there's already a /gg/ up

>>
>>72589123
It's about the pickups. You want hot humbuckers for that kind of thing, I'm sure stock SG pickups will work well enough, but you can always swap them out to something "more metal"
>>
>>72589124
>>72589133
The other thread OP is clearly a shitpost. Mods can see that.
>>
>>72589123
seriously? theres no point in asking that question bro. les pauls and sgs sound IDENTICAl. because they have same pickups, same scale lenght, same bridge.

im turning 24 in a few days. fuck off. sorry i don't listen to Elvis or some shit.

>>72589150
i got to play an epi SG in the past, and i really liked how it sounded. I just never got to really push it as far as i would have liked too. every once in a while i like to plan clean stuff, which is odd, because the dean ML i have now does cleans brighter and cleaner than the SG.

The pass doesnt let you bypass cooldown times, it still takes 30 seconds to post, unless you change ip's.

I'm sure Roman can act serious. He started tripping as pete, acting like pete from the discord, then after the crazyaga trip started getting insta banned the pete trip started shitposting and then disappeared altogether.

/gg/ is actually pretty funny, the bickering and people always taking the lamest bait amuses me. And even the on topic conversation has gotten better since our numbers have decreased. The shitposting saved the thread from people who kept posting the same pics so you could identify them (like sg fag).

hm, hard to believe. probably just c.a. being salty about being banned from the chatroom. you really had to be there to see how autistic 'aga' actually was - it was either authentic or he had a team of jews writing lines for him

iirc pete gave up on /gg/ because he was getting 7 day bans for linking his chatroom. maybe ill see if thats his actual discord account and find out for myself :^^^^)
>>
>>72590893
I know, but look at how shitty that pedal interface is. Makes it basically impossible to change sounds spontaneously. I guess it could be useful if you don't need to change sounds live, but it also takes away from the gimmick of having so many options available.
>>
>>72590974

That's because it's cheap.

No, multi-effects are usually shitty. You are better off in getting *good* single effect pedals to customize your sound, not cheap ass ones
>>
>>72591054
multifxs do sound nice and good

>>72591048

that type of thinks always made me kek, if a lot of peoples dont ear the difference why even care ? to please the 10% of peoples that know shit about overpriced material ?
>>
>>72591054
I agree and disagree. Obviously a nice single effect will do more for than you a crap multi. It'll sound better and be more readily usable.

But you can do a lot with that multi if you're creative. It won't be high quality but that doesn't mean you can't yank cool things from it. That innate versatility can be utilized in really cool and glitchy ways. As long as you're not relying on it for "tone" anyways.
>>
>>72591106
>And you are at the mercy of the pedal for all effect.
lol? youre at the mercy of a bunch of individual pedals for all individual pedals? ?
>>
how in the fucking hell a multifx' modulations and effects sound shitty if theyre mostly phasing, pitch switfting shit!!!

>>
>>72591125
>>72591125
>It won't be high quality
And that's the problem.
>that doesn't mean you can't yank cool things from it.
A truly creative person can yank a creative thing out of anything, so this is a non argument

Again, you are better off investing the money and truly customizing your board rather than be at the mercy of a series of mediocre presets.

You will not be able to do everything on my board with your one pedal
>>72591153
>having a choice of 1 pedal vs 1000 pedals is basically the same
Stop
>>
that'll be nice to have a site for doing blind test between several pedalboard/multieffect

10% of people really care about complex music. So I guess all music should be simple, right?
>>
>>72591175

>>
>>72591175
Shit dude. I think we're both going at it with non-arguments.

I would like to specify that I am not advocating replacing a board of proper effects with a multi but rather adding a multi to a board of effects. I don't agree with the other anon replying to you.

I'm just saying that even though I use nicer pedals nowadays, a multi-effect can be a cool way to fill out sounds you don't use as often. Sometimes a cheap effect sounds cool BECAUSE of it's cheapness. Like a glitchy octave or a fuzz that doesn't get enough juice and fizzles out. It's not like using better electronics makes it sound better, it just makes it last longer and less prone to failure.

I'm with you. I just wanted to point out that cheap effects can be cool too...
>>
>>72591202
i think is talking about modularity, like if your dumb enough to put a pedal where it doesn't belong to make your sound "original" and not to have to be creative on your music more than that
>>

you feel the difference for sure. more durable, less prone to detuning, and you can see the difference in craftsmanship.

but in terms of sound? you could replace the cheap pickups in the $100 dollar guitar and sound nearly the same as the $1000 dollar guitar.

that's not to say that a $1000 dollar guitar is bad, if you enjoy your hobby you should spend your hard-earned money getting the nice sweet one you've been wanting.

but if you just need good sound, that's really not expensive to do.

I need a small practice amp for home use and Marshall 2525C Mini Jubilee has started to intrigue me. JCM800 has been used in some form or another by many black metal musicians and I guess it is the quintessential 80's amp in general. How well does this version handle more extreme styles of metal? JCM800 usually needs something like a Tube Screamer to keep it tight, so needing to use a pedal with this one is not an issue. Some have described this as a more high gain amp but with a sweeter character, so does that translate to pristine 80's lead tones or can I get some real aggression out of this?

Other recommendations welcome too.
>Under 1000€, 1100€ is the absolute maximum
>Will be used mainly for metal, Lionheart will handle cleaner and softer music
>Can be a head or a combo as long as it doesn't break the budget
>Low-wattage at least as an option (like in the 2525C)
>Preferably made in Europe or America

I took some edibles last night and got really high. My favorite thing to do while high is listen to music, because as anyone who's gotten high and listened to music knows, it's a completely different experience than regular listening.

I listened to Buckethead and it was a very special experience. Almost spiritual, even.

I liked Buckethead before, but I've found a whole new appreciation and respect for him. I believe he is truly the greatest guitarist of our time.

I don't have any cabinets so I don't know what I'm looking for. I don't think I'll need more than a 1x12 cabinet since I am mic'd at my gigs.

Should I just get the 1x12 rectifier cab or is that a meme? Also should I look for closed back or open back? Also is the head too large to even fit on top of a 1x12?

I think the 2x12 is equally as popular as the 4x12.

From what I've heard of them (never in person albeit), I prefer the high end of the 2x12.

Then again, I've never even played a gig, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I'm going based on how I've heard them in recordings.

Guitar noob here, I was wondering if there's any way to pick out what I need to do to get something close to the guitar tone in this song:

I've picked out everything by ear and can play it, but I can't make the tone of the guitar sound good. It's always too sharp to sound good, and I have no idea how to fix it.
Is it super gear dependant? I'm currently connected to the computer and switch between FL Studio and Guitar Rig for practicing.
