>his family to this day still try to argue that it was an accident
:(
>>72580571
what was it like?
>>72580580
Actually Gabrielle believes, or at least wants to believe, that it was intentional. I think Molly was the one who thought it was accidental. I don't know what his dad thought.

seriously? that's sad as hell, when I took high doses it made it hard for me to swallow foods and drink water
but if you take enough, it'll stop your heart, remember there being a letter he'd written to his love interest setting by him when he was found
shit's just sad, man
>>72580586
it's an old tricyclic anti-depressant called amitriptyline, all it really did was make me sleepy, sap my motivation, and make me feel anesthetized to everything
What do you guys think of the footage on youtube of him? Can't be bothered to find it, but it's at a festival and a really tall guy with huge hands walks past. His back is turned to the camera tho. Is it Nick?

He looks like a Michael Cera who finally passed puberty.

I think you mean Jesse Eisenberg
>>72580731
yeah this
>>72580625
Hmm sounds like depression
>>72580580
I wonder what I'd want to believe in that situation. Would it be comforting to believe that he wanted it to happen and that he wasn't taken away by some cruel accident, or would I be so horrified that he'd gotten that sad in the first place that I refuse to believe it was on purpose?
Where'd you get so many pics man?

I think I kind of stick with his family on this one.
Pink Moon was the sound of a guy who was distancing himself and disengaging with a lot of the tropes people thought would make his music popular as well as admitting that he will probably never make a major impact on music.
But I also see it as a reflection on where Nick Drake is going in his life.
It's an album where he is simultaneously trying to confront his worst fears about where he is in life currently (Parasite and Free Ride) but also trying accept how despite his best efforts the current path he's on is out of his control and resigning himself to moving in a different direction from his musical career. I always saw it as a reflection on the passage of time and how Nick is trying to resolve a lot of the feelings and frustrations he has had over the years. As well as venting his anxieties over the change in his direction.
So it doesn't sound to me like he was suicidal, I think that's just the drama rock music critics and other artists love to cook up about music, to sell the story.
I think it sounds like a guy just trying to move on with his life and since he still needs one last record, the record is the resolution he needs to move on.
If nothing else, given some more time Nick would have been a great writer and just because he was depressed doesn't mean he was suicidal.
I believe a lot of people complain that they don't feel like anti-depressants work like they're supposed to or even work. Could have easily been a terrible misjudgment where he either took more because he didn't feel like they were working or just forgot.
That's just my interpretation of events but we barely know anything about the guy and for this reason I completely trust his family in this regard. They were much closer to him than anybody else and knew him a lot better than we do.
