Anybody have any suggestions for reggae rock like sublime? I just started listening to them and was wondering if you guys have any suggestions like em. regular reggae like bob marley is too slow
>reggae rock
So like Ska punk ?
slightly stoopid, rebelution, etc are the normal comparisons, but desu there's nothing similar to sublime that's anywhere near as good.

i know a lot of people who absolutely despise Sublime and like, i get it with all of the imitators, but to me brad nowell was one of the best songwriters of the 90s.

shit, man. thanks for the suggestions anyway

Reggae is supposed to be slow. It's all about island life and how chill it is. You're looking for ska. Unfortunately, Sublime is really the only good one. Most ska is just pop punk with steel drums. Although Rx Bandits are ok IMO

I think Sublime worked mostly because of Brad's charisma. Most similar bands fall flat because they don't have it. Rome is actually pretty charismatic imo and even he can't hold a candle to Brad.

/thread, thank you so much for posting this
More people need to take the Sublime-pill

Yup. The Police were, maybe not the first, but definitely the greatest Reggae rockers.
>>72575794
do you count the clash as reggae rock
>>72575805
>maybe not the first.
I'll give the Clash credit where credit is due. They were only mediocre at it though. Like they were mediocre at everything
Real shit coming in

Is 311 reggae rock?
Sublime was an amazing cover band. Their self titled album hold up amazingly, but I don't think anyone has close to 40oz to Freedom. Who else besides Brad could pull any of those songs off the way he did?
