For Gorillaz, 7/10. It's decisively beyond average, average being shit like M1A1 or Rhinestone Eyes, but plenty of the songs are memorable and very enjoyable. It's pretty fucking long, which I actually beleive is a double edged sword. Good in that there's more there, but bad in that it's gonna be a chore to listen to all of it, regardless if it's 10/10 or not

Now, for the current state of music, it's a straight 10/10. There's immense talent that goes into every single track, a lot of passion, and a presence of passion for music, and intentional disregard for conventions. It's fantastic, and even the songs that should be shit are still good (I'm looking at you, Saturnz Barz) and they're all very unique. Call my taste shit all you want, but you cannot deny that Gorillaz is still great for what they are.

Also Hallelujah Money is good, political message or not

As a compilation album featuring a lot of really talented artists, it's a good project with some great tracks.

As a Gorillaz album, it was disappointing.

Saturnz Barz is still the only song I can for sure get behind. The rest is still kinda polarizing for me. Might take a few more listens.

Not enough 2D IMO

There's good albums, and then there's Humanz.

This album feels like a bunch of ideas that Damon threw at the wall to see what would stick. It's like what Kanye did with TLOP; throw a ton of tracks on the album without much of a narrative, and let the fans decide which is best. Tracks like Sex Murder Party, Carnival, and The Apprentice are the same thing repeated over and over til the end.

7/10. I think Damon Albarn has come to resent the cartoon side of Gorillaz, so he's not motivated to make ambitious music for these cartoons anymore.

Not bad, but it does feel half-hearted at some points, particularly the sudden transition from Hallelujah Money to We Got the Power. Then again, the in-universe story is that Murdoc was forced to make this album by EMI.
