I love City, but for me Alien just pips it because Devy was off of his meds and the entire thing was hellish.

yeah, you're right in that it was a horrible time in his life.
This shit is heavy
>>72564923
This album is what lead me to expand my musical taste. Some anon recommended it in a sharethread like 7 years ago.
Leng T'che is the heavier album though.
For those that are interested there's a really good concert Naked City put on in 1992 in which they played Leng T'che with another screamer, and a large amount of their discography as well.
Should still be on YouTube, sorry for no link.
probably Proclamation - Execration of Cruel Bestiality
or one of the Sadistik Exekution albums

Yellowman?

I just googled abrasive jazz and read somewhere about john zorn. I started out with John Zorn - Naked city (the album) and I thought holy shit. Only after seeing a video on youthbe did I realise that nobody was screaming and that was in fact a saxophone. Anyways the film Funny Games by Michael Haneke had two songs from torture garden and when I listened to the album I immediately remembered it was from the film. I guess that made me appreciate it a lot more. I think the film is a lot like the album. As for expanding my music taste, I don't know honestly, maybe it's made me a lot more tolerant to abrasive music. My music taste had been expanded by death grips anyways but maybe naked city helped as well. What are you also into?
>>72565833
I'm interested in a good variety of music I think. Lately I've been into shoegaze, noise, electronica.
Tangible Ray's album Seance and Blanck Mass - World Eater are my current favorites this year. Although, I probably listen to My Bloody Valentine, Boards of Canada and Melvins the most consistently through the years. How about yourself?
>>72566267
Boarda of canada fuck yes. Just discovered it a month or two ago. It's mostly what I've been listening to lately. I have the whole discography even the tapes and eps. It's madness. But other than that lately I've been listening to gy!be, today I listened to Homogenic and the twin peaks album. I've also been listening to hella, Black Eyes midori takada lately.
>>72566411
I downloaded the discography I mean, haven't bought anything yet, but I'll get some records in the near future
>>72566267
What noise musicians or bands have you been listening to?
I'm still getting used to merzbau
>>72566461
Whitehouse, Sissy Spacek, and Big Black are my favorites in noise.
If you're into Merzbow you should check out his collaborative albums with Boris and Sunn O))), my favorite being Feedbacker.
Sorry the intermittent responses, trying to drive makes posting difficult.

Funny you mention Twin Peaks because I really enjoyed Angelo Badalamenti's orchestration in general, and also Xiu Xui's take on the music from Twin Peaks.
You should check out Angelo's other work on David Lynch's films, such as Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive.
If you like the sung parts of the Twin Peaks soundtrack I recommend the band Beach House, the album Depression Cherry in particular. Really captures the dreamy vibe very well.
Definitely this one, Australians are fucking lunatics
>>72567006
>recommending beach house over julee cruise, or 90s dream pop artists in general

totally different
>>72565426

>releases a fucking awesome 3 song ep in 2010
>is never heard from again
>will only have these 6:30 minutes of music forever
It still hurts. Volcanic Slut is a great name for a band too.

I really enjoyed mulholland dr and blue velvet but I didn't pay attention to the soundtracks. I'll check them out. As for beach house I have their discography but I rarelt ever listen to them. It's just not the same vibe as twin peaks. The main reason I've listened to twin peaks today is because my music player has been dropped in water and I'm still waiting for it to dry in rice so the alternative was the twin peaks casette I sometimes put on.
>>72567195
Could you recommend me some dream pop bands, I know next to nothing about this genre
