What equipment do I need? I got a job and after paying for certain necessities such as food and travel I will have approximately 380 pounds left by the end of the month for free personal use.
With that in mind what equipment do I need? I know its quite a low budget but I'm willing to be cheap starting off making music. I already know I need a usb microphone, but what else?
Thanks in advance.
Btw I'm making rap music.

Literally just a computer or smartphone. You don't even need to be a good lyricist. Just get a stupid neck tattoo, dye your hair pink and cut it like a faggot, wear a tight polo and sag your pants. People will listen to your god awful garbage ironically. Rap is a pleb genre for morons.

How long did it take until you were able to make decent beats? Like what's the learning curve like?

Since other people are being Le Edgy XD I'll give you some actual advice. Pirate FL Studio and listen to a lot of music. I would definitely recommend listening to lots of Jazz and other Hip-Hop. Also what type of Hip-Hop are you making? Another thing that I would look for is a nice microphone when you get better at making music. For now just work on flow and lyricism and look at how to make beats on FL. I would suggest working on beat making before your flow though because nobody wants to listen to spoken word rap wen they're first starting. This should get you started, cheers!
