Terrible singer, but the 10/10 songwriting makes up for it.

my dad, who works at velvet underground... say that in this picture... lou reed point at us
>>72529545
to whom is he pointing at?

Well he is a talentless hack
As said above, amazing songwriter - mediocre vocalist.
That said, his voice was fucking perfect for what The Velvet Underground were trying to achieve in their music.

It's weird how that works. I would hate having to listen to him sing anything beside his own stuff. But it works well for what he does, especially that album.
>anybody remember Lulu?

>Talentless hack!?
>I'll talentless hack you to pieces... kid

>mediocre vocalist
That is if you're simply talking about technical abilities. His delivery in combination with music is ummatched. There's nothing like it. Intimate and profound.
My favourite artist.

This. If you don't recognize sweet Jane and rock n roll as some of the greatest vocal takes of all time you need to kys
A creative dude with several efforts.
Many succeeded, some failed. We need more people like him.

Great vocals there, absolutely, but I was aiming more towards songs like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxGEiCE1GQg or even Venus in Furs
Incredibly personal and powerful.
But you're right, Lou has so many different sorts of styles, Rock 'N' Roll Animal, Berlin, Coney Island Baby, Take No Prisoners, Ecstacy, etc. His music is so much richer than it seems. It's deceptively simple.
Lou's sense of timing and creativity are amazing as well. Really separates him from the rest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T20BJPYj4Iw
