The two aren't that similar; Alcest is barely shoegaze, their main innovaltion was combining harsh guitars with dreamier post-rock melodies and progressions.
Deafheaven fully integrated shoegaze guitars into straight-up black metal rhythms, something that actually hadn't been done to that extent before Sun Bat Her
