Maybe not relly a flaw, but this album would be great for relaxing if it wasnt for samurai sword. I like the song, but it kind of ruins the soft, calming, psychedelic atmosphere the album creates up to that point. Great album tho.

Sags in the middle a bit too much. By themselves, the mansion, two somethings, and I'll not contain you (maybe, but not as much, The gleam pt. 2 as well) are good songs. In the context of the album though, I feel like they slow down and completely stop the momentum the album had until then. Last half is fantastic though.

The Glow Pt. 2 used to be one of my fav albums but the more I listen to it I realize that it's pretty inconsistent.

The best songs on the whole album are the first three, which on an album of 20 songs, is kind of a problem. The instrumental tracks are cool but don't sound like much past recording experiments, along with songs like My Roots Are Strong and Deep, I'll Not Contain You, and My Warm Blood, which to me end up being more about the sonics than the actual songwriting.

All in all, the album is still quite good but not a 10. The production is impeccable, the performances are unique and memorable, the lyrics are very imaginative, I have a lot of good things to say about the album but it's more like a solid 7 or 8/10 to me.

Yeah I like Samurai sword, don't get me wrong. I think it's a great song. I don't know much about a bear and love-destruction, but I still enjoy the song as a shoegazy barn burner.

HOWEVER I just think it's very out of place on the album and putting it after the softest track almost feels a bit like a cheap jump scare. It really ruins the atmosphere for me that the whole second half of the album builds so masterfully. I think that maybe the project would be more cohesive as a whole if he had left it as a b-side, or even put it at the front with the Glow Pt 2, the other noisier song on the album. Idk still a great album and who knows, maybe doing that would ruin the love-destruction, idk.

While having cool instrumentals I felt it lacked grit. It sounded polished and shiny while appearing as if it were dark and edgy.

The first 4 minutes are absolutely spectacular (especially the first minute), one of the highlights as various instruments intersect and complement each other intensely, thereby creating that organic, flowing, transcendent quality Coltrane was aiming for and what (among which) makes the album truly special.
