Cloudead is far more complex from a moment to moment basis. It's Bach's Art Of Fugue to MBDTF's Four Seasons. The earlier's not as "maximalist" in its arrangement, but is far more complex.

Paul's Boutique uses far more samples and sections than any Kanye album. It's literally the first example of maximalism in hip hop.

I shouldn't even have to mention Endtroducing since from a production perspective it's far more sophisticated in technique than MBDTF which like every Kanye album still has that baby ass brickwalling mixing garbage on it.

Paul's Boutique and Endtroducing are easily far more uplifiting than MBDTF. The most upbeat and happy sounding track on MBDTF has a line with goddamn Fergie singing about doing lines of cocaine and a dude with a kid going to jail. Not to mention Kanye crying on Runaway, all of POWER, etc etc. Hell the record is called My Beautiful DARK TWISTED fantasy
