Mono. It was mastered in Mono, and sounds far superior to Stereo. This is coming from initially listening in Stereo.
>Anything mastered in Mono sounds better in Mono.

Mono by far.

This is my favorite album and I've only listened to it in stereo. Is the mono version really that much better?

I only starting listening to it after I accidentally downloaded a Mono FLAC copy of Soulseek.
It really is the definitive version.
duophonic
You get a lot more clarity with the stereo, particulary on a song like Wouldn't It Be Nice. However Mono also has moments that are only available on the mono mix as Brian added them only during the mixing session such as his vocals on God Only Knows.
So 50/50 but mono and stereo both sound fantastic on the Analogue Production release.

Sweet. I'll look for a mono version after my lab practical. Thanks.

All good man. If you don't end up liking the Mono version that's fine too.

It depends on the version though. The 50th Anniversary Stereo mix is fantastic.

George Martin ??
Whilst this thread is up, why would you not want the stereo remaster? I know some people hate the Beatles remaster but I've never heard any reasons aside from it being different.
What do you guys think of the 5.1 remaster of ITCOTCK?
Either way the album's still shit
