>2112 gets derided as a fascist album in its release
>Geddy Lee's a jew who lost family in the holocaust
I love it when reviewers shit the bed that badly.

2112 is my favorite, but the second half doesn't live up to the first half

The media always hated Rush so this doesn't surprise me.

A Farewell to Kings is their best prog album.
Presto is their best album when they were basically just a slightly strange AOR band.

Grace Under Pressure/Permanent Waves/Hemispheres/Moving Pictures/Farewell to Kings

I like Presto as well. It's such an improvement over shitty Hold your Fire

I really like Power Windows and Hold Your Fire, but song-for-song, Presto is their best '80s AOR pop album for my money.
Chain Lightning is such a great pop song, it should've been a single. Weird to think that they never actually played it live.

Does anyone else think Signals perfectly encapsulates the feel of elementary/middle/high school and suburbia in the summertime?
The feeling of the hot sun, the bottle of Pepsi your dad bought for you after your little league baseball game, the awkward crush you had on a girl, the pine trees, the pool, the smell of a barbecue, red/orange/yellow/violet-colored sunsets, etc.
There is a nostalgic summer vibe this album has that no other Rush release exhibits. Grace Under Pressure has a close sound to Signals, but not quite. It's so hard to describe, but there is some sort of ethereal sound to this album that transports me to a nostalgic hormone-drenched dreamland.
Listen to Moving Pictures, then listen to Signals. You might get an idea of what I mean.

I like power windows a lot too. Yo it's funny you mention chain lightning. When I first listened to that song, I thought "holy shit this is awful". I listened to it again sometime later, an I actually enjoyed it.

Agreed, The Analog Kid is comfy af
The fact that no one has said Hemispheres yet leaves me in disgust.

This sums it up pretty good. I still prefer Permanent Waves and Hemispheres, but Signals is definitely 3rd for me.
