what would you consider to be the best BoC release?

Don't Fear the Reaper

Contrarian opinion:The Campfire Headphase.

joke triggers my figurative autism cuz then you're stylizing it as "Blue oyster Cult" not as "Blue Öyster Cult"

Definitely underrated by most of the fanbase. Not so sure about it being their best though.

Music Has the Right to Children is definitely their most influential, but The Campfire Headphase really captures the aesthetic of the band the best I think.
music has the right to children, and theoretically it's even better with happy cycling as a bonus track, but sticking it at the end to me kills the vibe crafted on the album. Ending it with one of those inconsequential (this isn't what I mean, they're actually important) interludes (and how could it be an interlude if at the end) feels right.

To add on this, it reminds me of the driving trips I used to make to make to the Canadian Rockies in the summer with my parents when I was a kid. Since the band's motive was to capture the essence of childlike wonder, summer and old national geographic documentaries about Canada, they definitely did that for me in The Campfire Headphase.
MHTRTC is the most original and most iconic, but I think Geogaddi is the best one.

My favorite is Random 35 Track Tape but Geogaddi is probably the "best".

Geogaddi > MHTRTC > Campfire Headphase > twoism > everything else they released
