The rym page for CASALARVOB lists it as "avant garde" do you think this is accurate? This isn't a meme at all I'm genuinely asking. His writing style and vocal delivery and his unique folk style are very boundary pushing in my opinion and can end up influencing a lot of artists, I don't think I've ever heard an album quite like Common

Universal Themes and the two Jesu collaborations are pretty similar to Common as.
Benji has a similar approach to songwriting as well but generally much folkier (and more depressing).
