They have this whole underground hipster culture of people who have a raging hard-on for the "70's sound" of music. Everything they do is promotion for "muh vintage gear" and "muh avant-garde".

I love Sunn O))), but I can't get behind the butchered, cross-genre CRAP that Southern Lord jacks off to, like stoner rock, sludge, and funeral doom. It all sounds the same and is just slow pentatonic riffing at .0005% speed.
