Swans isn't really very polarizing. People who know Swans uniformly rate Swans extremely highly, and Swans releases routinely make critics' and listeners' top 5 lists.

There aren't a whole lot of people running around like "fuck Swans and everyone who likes them"--not the way there is with people like Kanye.

Everyone who thinks Swans is one of the top 5 most overrated of the 2010s is wrong. The Seer and To Be Kind got tons of praise from critics but your average Joe has never ever heard of Swans. I also think most of the praise Swans receive is justified since they're one of the few modern rock bands who aren't cheaply copying 60s-80s rock. Tame Impala are overrated, Swans aren't.
