Are there any other popular music single-person critics like Fantano/Christgau/Scaruffi I should be aware of?
Critic collectives would be fine too.
They're literally all hacks.

scaruffi is the only one worth knowing, and it's just for the memes
Lester Bangs
He died in the 80s but yeah. Scaruffi copied his taste from him
Andrei Gorokhov
>popular music
I'm pretty sure Scaruffi is the only halfway decent popular music critic. And honestly he's pretty shit.

Didn't Lester Bangs hate Suicide and MC5 though?
>Why are there age limits? why is it illegal to marry a 12-year old? Helen of Troy was 12. Juliet and Cleopatra were still teenagers when they became famous. Most heroines of classic novels and poems were underage by today's laws. Thomas Edison married a 16-year-old. Medical studies show that the best age for a woman to have children is between 15 and 25 (lowest chances of miscarriage, of birth defects and, last but not least, of the woman dying while giving birth); while the worst age is after the mid 30s.

He changed his mind about MC5 later

They don't call him Pierro "Sharia" Scaruffi for nothing.

he doesn't have a coherent argument until the last sentence. which even then is stupid because the follow up sentence is about a 12 year old. i'll give that first sentence, and it's implications, a pass because i'm assuming it's a translation issue. however the rest of it him arguing against "age limits" by referring to fictional characters from 2000 and 500 years ago respectively. he referenced edison's wife who he only met two months before marrying her.
