They're not really comparable tbqh, they are pretty far apart in terms of pretty much everything. I enjoy them both but comparing and contrasting Kendrick and Kanye is difficult given their styles and career paths, such as the lengths of their careers for starters.

Kendrick tells better stories in his albums as he takes the role of multiple perspectives which vary throughout his songs, and sometimes even on the same track. This allows for Kendrick to have a unique creative freedom which most rappers lack. Kendrick mostly focuses on the message of his music, versus making the best single that will play on the radio for the longest.

Kanye adopts a whole bunch of underground trends and launches them into the limelight. I would say his only concept albums are College Dropout and Late Registration, I could be wrong though. Kanye focuses on how his music sounds more than the lyrics and the fact that he produces his own music gives him a huge edge. Kanye has been active for a lot longer than Kendrick and has also been a lot more influential than Kendrick. Whether you like him or not, Drake would not be relevant if it weren't for 808's.

From this I am inclined to say that Kanye is the better artist, though I prefer listening to Kenny.

Kendrick has potential, but only as long as he is surrounded by good people and has the support of a label. He's got a vision, but isn't as versed in music as he is in rapping (reminder of that time Thundercat showed him Miles Dawis for the first time during TPAB production). The lyrics and the thematic content is really good and personal, but he is honestly a bit too hood. While Kanye rapped about middle-class issues even on his first album, 2 of KDot's last 3 albums were basically about Compton with touch of personal issues (Damn covered them much more). Also the whole "Ima be humble and keep living in the hood" will probably really stunt his artistic growth, and if he doesn't put out like even more of a personal and depressing record than DAMN (basically go full on Earl), then I can see him easily running out of subject matter to talk about.
Meanwhile Kanye has a real ear for catchy music, even outside the conventions, and that makes him really good considering that he's a passable rapper on top, that can offset his lack of mad rhyme schemes and overall flow diversity with funny lines/ad-libs, engaging the listener. Also he's one of the only really wholesomely genuine rappers, throughout his whole career, from Family Business to Waves.
