5 months ago I didn't like shoegaze at all, couldn't stand it no matter what album I listened to, and now I'm listening to all the same albums again recently and loving them. Wtf happened?
mandela effect
the universe shifted and the shoegaze you heard before is from another dimension

Either the Mandela effect happens a lot to me forcing to constantly switch genres I enjoy, or I'm going crazy, and I don't really wanna believe I'm crazy so inter-dimensional travel it is
conditioning or adaptation

Depending on how close minded you were, you either became more open minded or were not in the right mood when you listened to them in the first place
Made a post on this in another thread. Might be true for you too.

>open minded people like all music
yeah I remember knowing very little of a handful of styles too

I think it might just be that my tastes seem to be on a rotational period. I get "shifts" of liking different genres. Before shoegaze I was listening to jazz, before that I was listening to beat tapes, this is just for a month or so
