Hopefully this thread won't die like the last couple have
Very nice slowcore/dreampop from Spain, now sure why I've never seen this posted anywhere. Album also has a couple of noisier tracks.

>>72385531
This was nice, they have a really unique sound. It would be spooky and ghostly if her voice wasn't so nice and calming. Sounds like sweet dream pop coming from the spirit realm or something

Listening to the album OP posted, it's not bad a bit amateurish in terms of production, I like the voice a lot and there's some interesting stuff. It's not the best thing I've ever heard by far

Guitar playing is pretty cool, very nice slow core vibe. the vocals however are the blandest thing I've ever heard. But there's a very fine line between vocals that are purposefully aloof, so I don't blame you for liking it ;)

I never fucked with opiates but back when I did dude weed I used to love nothing more than getting fried and listening to super-dense sludgy stuff
Speaking of which, I listened to

for the first time in forever and I forgot how amazing it was. That thing where that have a sludgy shoegaze part going then tremolo guitar lines rise out of the noise is amazing
>>
>>72392460

If you ever have some kind of medical situation where you get prescribed some painkillers just listen to some dense shoegaze and space the fuck out. Nodding to walls of fuzz is the best feeling.

Star Roving was one of the weaker songs, no idea why they chose it as the lead single.

>>72393535
Magic Night is still my favorite (what an album) but I agree, I'm interested to see what becomes of him as he continues to catch on. That kind of music has a lot of crossover potential for the "I don't like harsh vocals bloo bloo bloo" types

After having listened to the "holy trinity" of shoegaze, I can't escape the feeling that Kevin Shields and Loveless killed the genre. From A.R.Kane, Swirlies, which I liked very much and many obscure bands, it seems to me that nothing comes close to the cohesion and iconic songs Kevin Shields has made. I would very much like to be proven wrong and be amazed by some other albums.
>>
>>72402428
You're right. The only thing that comes close is IMO Sweet Trip - Velocity : Design : Comfort.
Ceres and Calypso is somewhere behind but still above the rest.

>>
>>72402428
desu M B V is better than Loveless.
Loveless feels like a product, neat, tightly packaged and polished, but surprisingly thin/shallow.

M B V on the other hand sounds much more adventurous and progressive. It might not be as innovative and influential as Loveless, but it's a fresh take on the genre and much more interesting to listen to in 2017 than their debut.
>>
>>72392285
gracias
>>
>>72402475
From a production standpoint, Loveless got even more polished when the remastered versions were released. And it only serves well such an album, which features a wall of sound production with absurd amount of layers of tracks. I liked m b v, mainly for the mood it forces let he listener, though there aren't iconic songs.
>>
>>72402509
I guess i should give the originals a go, cause i get this plastic feeling from listening to Loveless.

And I definitely agree that Loveless sounds more "classic", but classic can be safe and boring, while m b v is new and exciting. Hard to judge at this point, I'll come back to you in 15 years
>>
>>72402526
Don't get me wrong, m b v certainly feels fresh and trance-like, just as they intended their music to sound, but there is no Only Shallow, I Only Said, To Here Knows When. Having learned to play I Only Said on guitar and it being my favorite track when I first listened to Loveless, may have something to do with my praise for it from a purely subjective perspective.
>>
>>72402509
Forces on the listener*
>>
>>72385531
really, really nice album. doze off to it a fair bit.
>>
>>72402578
The melodic hook of I Only Said is actually my least favorite part of the album and I always skip the end.

That's actually one of the reasons I dislike loveless - many sections get repeated numerous times without any variety and in the case of I Only Said it becomes super annoying.

Loomer and To Here Knows When are definitely the highlights of the album for me, but Who Sees You, If I Am and Wonder 2 are just as good in my opinion.

Also, fuck MBV title tracks, I can never tell one from another and I always have to look their names up.

I wasn't crazy about Falling Ashes at first but it's really grown on me and I think it's a perfect closer. Neil's retard mumbling really shines, and the slightly out of phase loops and samples give a spooky note to the sweet music.

>>72404725
I commend how different it was but I wasn't crazy about it except for a few songs. The trip-hop song was really good and I was kind of disappointed they didn't explore that style more. There was a little of everything but it didn't feel especially cohesive as an album.

Heavy Rocks (both) are similar sludge rock, Absolutego and the one with the Nick Drake cover are similar but have more variety.

Their best album is Flood, which is drone and psychedelic post-rock. If you like that, Feedbacker is the same thing but a little louder.
