this is a masterpiece

lol
How so?
>>72351562
Listened to it once, sobbed a bit, moved on.
Hospice has more musical depth
>>72351656
being sad and making music aren't supposed to be different when you're a musician
>>72351815
why are you replying to me?
>>72351846
because thinking this is comparable to hospice is thinking all art is comparable, which i think is wrong
>>72351656
>Hospice has more musical depth
yeah
too bad it fucking sucks
>>72351941
I don't think it is musically, either.
It's just everyone on this board seems prone to compare the two for some reason. I think Hospice offers more depth in its songwriting than ACLAM, which has more profound lyrics. But I don't listen to music solely for lyrics.
>>72351941
but what about comparing the amount of effort went into making those albums, phil himself said that it was basically slapped together in five minutes
>>72351941
Get over yourself
>conceptual happiness
>was cool to talk about
>before i knew my way around
>these hospitals
>>72352037
effort doesn't mean a fucking thing. What matters is gestalt, novelty and the range of potential associations that the listener can derive from the piece.
>>72352060
well i thought it was horribly cheesy because, you know, no audible effort
>>72352093
it's cheesy if it's fucking cheesy, not because no effort was involved.
Think of how often a band slaps together what they consider b-side material only for it to become staples of their catalogue--Rolling Stone's "I Can't Get No Satisfaction", Judas Priest's "You Got Another Thing Comin'", etc.
>>72352178
those are catchy, at least. there's nothing catchy about some dude whining about his wife's death
>>72352362
that's fair
>>72352056
fucking shit phil
>>72352362
if ACLAM isnt catchy then why do i keep getting the melodies stuck in my head
