>>72327996
i appreciate robert smith because he wrote the best song of all time
It's Friday and I'm in love!
>>72328066
Fuck off Morrisse, just die already.
the 1980s were so gay lmao
>>72328435
unironically kill yourself
>>72328066
HOLY SHIT
Faith, Pornography, Seventeen Seconds
Thanks so much for this holy cold wave trinity my dude, don't care about the rest
2 more years and he'll hit 60. Shame he's chilled out about the milestones since 40 with Bloodflowers, especially since Disintegration was basically an early mid-life crisis over turning 30 anyways.
>>72328066
enjoying this post
>>72328504
Seventeen Seconds is great when it's great but I feel it's a bit too skeletal in spots, if not outright unfinished. And no love for Disintegration which felt like it built upon Faith's general foundation?
Post favorite Cure songs.

>>72328431
kek I can absolutely imagine Morrissey sitting in his mansion, bored out of his mind, shitposting about Robert Smith on /mu/.
>>72328596
Seventeen Seconds is my least favorit out of them indeed (had a few fillers imo)
Concerning Disintegration, the second part is great but there is far too much "ballads" and not enough coldness to me. But it's a good album nevertheless
>>72328468
lmao why
fwiw "Untitled" is my favorite Cure song
and I love Robert Smith desu
>>72328718
My two favorite Cure songs.

I love the ghostly feedback on Homesick, and the Fender VI bassline from The Same Deep Water As You.
>>72328406
>tfw it's Friday and I've never been in love
Disntegration is the greatest album ever made, despite having Pictures of You, and onlyplebs and trolls and fags disagree
>>72328798
Well, almost all of Disintegration is about emotional distance so I'd say it's plenty cold. Lovesong flips that on its head (though it was also dedicated to his partner) and Lullaby has fuck all to do with anything other than being spooky because he can but otherwise Disintegration is pretty isolating.
>>72328856
One, it's not my number one but it's in my top 5. Two, every song is great and that includes Pictures Of You.
>>72328936
Yes it is your number one.
Pictures of you is just the weakest song. Still good
three imaginary boys is a 10/10 song
i would bang young Robert, and maybe fat old Robert too who knows
>>72328406
Loving that Bass VI.
>>72329160
>Loving that Bass VI.
They're really fucking expensive these days.
>>72328766
Holy shit its probably true
>KILLING AN ARAB
damn, go back to /pol/ Robert
>>72329199
They really are. I ended up buying a Squier one and even that was pricy (for a Squier at least).
>>72329311
>They really are. I ended up buying a Squier one and even that was pricy (for a Squier at least).
Original Fender VIs are around 10k. Still want one.
The reissues and Squier versions are good enough, I should probably get one when I want to record more goth stuff.
A LOT of Cure songs use the Fender VI, it's the instrument that pretty much defines the band.
This tumblr page is also pretty neat because it shows off some of Roberts other guitars in addition to several Fender VI's he used.

worth the wait
>>72327996
Nothing will ever beat Disintegration.
It's sad how steeply they declined after it.
70s-80s Cure are Incredible.
>>72327996
This album needs more love
>>72331286
Wish and Bloodflowers are still very good albums and the others still have a few decent songs on them. I actually think the S/T is consistently decent and is grossly overhated.
>>72331522
i like s/t a lot desu
>>72331378
It does, always looked like an old Gothic Curch in Deep Mist to me.
Peak Creepy Cure.
Doubt is Incredible.
>>72327996
Happy Birthday Cure boy
CUTE!
>>72331791
its weird to think that although the cure has so many dreary (unrequited) love songs robert has literally been married to his high school sweetheart for most of his life
Daily reminder that The Smiths are better than The Cure
>>72327996
i like the old hipster runnoff joke of him being "the worlds oldest emo kid" it still holds true hes so cringy grow up lol.
>>72332422
if morrissey is gay, I'm straight
>>72332468
Kill yourself
>>72332422
Kek
>>72332422
That is True.
But I love em both.
I'd like to be the intermediator between Smith & Moz that would be fun.
>>72328856
Pictures of You is one of the best songs you plebazoid
>>72331378
This is definitely their best album aside from Disintegration.
>>72331522
4:13 Dream is very underrated. Underneath the Stars is probably the best thing they did that decade
>>72333037
Their feud was pretty much created by the media because of some stupid joke Morrissey made.
let's appreciate this song he featured more or less in full on.
