Listen to a lot of jazz and you'll get it

Mediocre jazz just sounds bland
>>72326722
this is mediocre jazz
is it rockist jazz? No? then its good
>>72326791
this is good jazz
Just randomly stumbled upon listening to Ryo Fukui - Scenery that I must have downloaded at some point. What is more like this? It was nice.

Think about what could make the music better. The less things you can think of that would make it better, the better the music is.

Once you get into 'Ra you'll realize that it's not a dichotomy (good/bad) but rather an infinitely complex cosmic order that can't be put in words.

cringe taste

Does anyone else have trouble getting into jazz? It just feels so all over the place, I have trouble enjoying any of it.
>>72327936
I have the opposite problem. I seem to have no filter but then again I am listening to only the most popular and critically acclaimed at the moment

Stop the good people from ever being able to perform

You're a moron who can't answer his question.

Try some Miles Davis. He's probably the most melodically sharp artist in jazz, all of his stuff sounds very focused and it's a great starting point
After that you can take a shot at guys like Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, and Jackie McLean. Stay away from Thelonious Monk and Charles Mingus until you can start to enjoy those other guys. Mingus might be the best ever but he's got a very distinctive sound that I'd hate for you to dislike so early
