ITT: Albums that hold lots of personal meaning, but are often considered to be "bad" compared to other musicians of the same style
Mine is Elliott Smith's Either/Or. I don't get any enjoyment from Bob Dylan whatsoever. Fight me irl /mu/.

I think you should read more, anon.
Pick up any book with a non-self-help-book prose.
I like DIIV, and Oshin is great. But most Krautrock is boring.

No one considers Elliott Smith "bad".

beg to differ

6/10 isn't bad from Scaruffi.

my favourite album is figure 8 and my least favourite is roman candle, so I think he thinks my taste in Elliott is bad at the very least

Bob Dylan is not even remotely of the same style, singer-songwriter is not a genre but if it were, Bob Dylan would not be a part of it since he came up from a world of singing songs other people wrote
Dylan never made bedroom folk, Elliott Smith is fine if you like post-grunge, but he's considered one of the best of his style, not the worst, this whole thread is based on a ridiculous notion

Considered" doesn't mean much. After all didn't he kill himself by doing irl sudoku?
Eh well look at it...doesn't seem like he's all that good now. Music listening is subjective though. All have opinions

He was murdered, like, how fucking stupid is it that people will just accept the most ridiculous deaths as a suicide if that's what they want to believe because the truth scares them
