I used to do that too about 10-15 years ago. The hip hop show was on well past midnight on a Tuesday night I think, so I'd listen to as much as was reasonable and hit record when I started to fall asleep. Good times.

I hear this a lot, but never a reason why. Perhaps it's too close to the regular Wu Tang material? Even the DEHH guys didn't list it in their best Wu Tang related releases video. I may be biased as a big early GZA fan but I always thought Liquid Swords was considered a classic.

Everyone dickrides it because "MUH LYRICISM", as if lyricism is an automatic excuse for being a bad rapper, which GZA is. The only thing that makes Liquid Swords worth listening is RZA's production, which is at his finest. The best song doesn't even have GZA on it.

Classifying GZA as a bad rapper only shows your limitations, his flow's great and the understated way he raps works with the lyricism, not against it. I have to admit that from the post-LS stuff I usually prefer RZA's albums but still.
