post it to the rym database or something my dude
>>72302587
ive been meaning to
but im either too drunk or too tired to bother
as a side note,
talking to 三上寛 was so surreal
he's tiny and rather unassuming,
but during the live,
he seemed like a fucking giant
was also kind of hard to hear after
when i saw him it was at アケタの店,
which is also where 大勘定 (daikanjo) was recorded
i asked if they had any physical copies of it left
but they didn't. oh well
Spangle call Lilli line have been one of my favorite bands since I was a teenager. It is the perfect walking around at night music.

group_inou is the only other 'big' act i've seen so far
but i've seen a countless number of random local acts
they range from mildly boring to pretty damn neato
but i moved to tokyo from elsewhere in japan like three weeks ago
once i am not so exhausted from work ill go to more
there's another 三上寛s how on 5/1, and there's an upcoming 友川かずき at apia 40 i think
三上寛 has a show with 遠藤ミチロウ (from The Stalins) on like 4/28, but im not sure i can make it
>>72302678
>group_inou
tfw cant find their albums anywhere
>>72302315
seconding this, her last album wasnt as good as the predecessors though
Why is Japan so fucking good for experimental music?

If you can find it, watch Live From Tokyo. It's a neat little documentary about the Tokyo experimental scene. They talk to Nisennenmondai and Tenniscoats & Secai among others.
This is where it's at.
>>72302568
on itunes and their website the album title is written in hiragana
>>72302704
i actually thought her latest album was her best! i felt like 0 in particular was sort of rambly, but Mahoroboshiya is short and sweet and sad
>>72302615
Nanae is my go-to album when i feel bummed, amazing band
>>72302304
Lamp is so good dude
Where do I start with Ruins?

The only Ruins album I've listened to/physically own is Tzomborgha and I think it's pretty good, give it a listen.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wzdxO0dfSM
Alternatively, listen to Koenjihyakkei if you haven't already, since it's lead by the drummer from Ruins (Tatusya Yoshida) with the difference being Koenjihyakkei is a full band rather than a drum/bass duo.

Thanks bby, I'll grab it. That Tatsuya Yoshida & Satoko Fujii album got me interested; although, I had been meaning to check out Ruins for a while.

There was some seriously funky music happening in Japan in the 70s but barely anyone knows about it

I just think people know about those already.

Yeah, and most of it is down to the shitty Japanese music industry. They have never had any interest in trying to promote their shit overseas when they're comfortable selling special edition CDs to people who are still willing to buy them. They have zero presence on streaming platforms, and they pull shit off Youtube all the time. Even though all they have to do is claim it and make ad revenue for free with zero effort on their part.
I've been trying to find this album for ages, but these few vids on Youtube are all I can find. Nothing even on Soulseek even though most of his discography is there.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3PgHwyrpJI
There are reasonably priced LPs on Discogs, so I might just buy one of those...
>>72304010
They've no idea the goldmine they're sitting on. The fuck do they even do all day?
>>72302391
Listen to both Tokyo Shoegazer albums and Mass of the Fermenting Dregs' self titled if you haven't already.
Good taste for the most part ITT
>>72302304
thank you so much for this, do you have any other album by them?
>>72304010
The Japanese music industry might be legitimately retarded, in the formal, medical sense of the word.
