Help with struming pattern

sounds like basic ups and down with a rest on the chord change

1 + 2 +a3 + (4) + (5) + 6 + 7 + 8 (+)

this is during the verse
>strum down on 1, up on the + next
>strum down on 2, down on the +, up on the a, down on 3, then up on the +
>the parentheses are silent

seriously, if you need to use fucking strumming patterns, your sense of rhythm is worthless and you need to work on it without having it handed to you or you're not gonna go anywhere

Apparently this board is filled with children.
The most important parts of the pattern is the quarter note held on the first beat, an 8th note downbeat on the last beat on the second measure and the tied note. This is the first chorus pattern: earlier in the song there are no 16th note upbeats but as the song climaxes there are additional upbeat 16ths on the 2nd upbeats

strumming patterns have been intuitive to me as long as i've been able to strum at all, you just have no sense of natural rhythm and you're never gonna develop it by reading it
