It's my second favourite Bowie album behind Blackstar; I wish the concept was fleshed out more or that he made those sequels to it

The original concept for Outside was to be a series of albums with Eno, but Columbia told Bowie to fuck off with that.

So the album was chopped to bits enough where its original concept plot is untangible, radio-friendly singles were inserted and the idea was dropped by the time Earthling came to fruition.
