Alright lads, come clean. What track(s) did you delete?

*deletes Love*
This song is annoying as FUCK. Why did he even make it? It's like a shitty Drake knockoff and has no place on this record.

*deletes Element*
One of the most jarring fucking hooks I've ever heard.
>>
>I WANNA BE WITH YOU, AY
>DON'T JUDGE ME
>>
>>72268148
Instantly when I heard GOD that shit was gone. The rest of it is somewhat redeemable. I like some parts of loyalty, the hook on Element is definitely not Kendrick but it's still catchy and I like it. I did find that Kendrick can't get away for really dull delivery on YAH. just like Big Sean can't get away with it when he does it. Zacari on LOVE. has a part in the hook that I find really beautiful when he hits that high note but GOD. is by far his worst song of all time, period.
>>
>>72268148
love is the best song on there. baka
>>
*delets loyalty*

I'm so fucking tired of this album being shilled on this board.
>>
>>72268283
do you have to put the stylized period at the end of each track name? jesus christ

HUMBLE is awful.
>>
Love Loyalty and Element all make the album worse. Literally drake songs

>>72268405
Nope. that's how they appear stylized on the CD case. Maybe think about how your fucking post looks formatted with a bunch of . . . . everywhere.
>>
Only listened to it twice so far, skipped Loyalty both times, the other stuff was at least bearable and mostly pretty good. I gotta say I liked the themes in GKMC and TPAB but I kinda stopped giving a fuck about it by now and I don't care about all the /pol/-related shit anyway. But it's stil a really good record to me because since I'm German I can just kinda stop translating the lyrics in my head and then all the tracks just become really good rap tracks, especially all the "banger" stuff like DNA, Humble, Backseat Freestyle etc.
Also, for some reason whatever Kendrick does to his bass kicks is amazing and sounds great both on my home stereo and in my car, while e.g. Asap Rocky's weirdly pitched bass often just comes out kinda fart-ish, especially in my car.

Those are the track names you do realize that right. Like they show up on the official back of the album, on itunes idk why you think they're different or that it's retarded to name tracks as they're actually called

>>
>>72268757
Yes cause I'm supposed to believe that on an album titled DAMN. all song titles, despite them being "stylized" on all other platforms are supposedly really just super simplistic.
>Yah
>God
>etc
You're a fucking idiot
>>
>>72268775
when it turns your post into a grammatical fucking mess yeah it is wrong. a period means something.
>>
>>72268798
You obviously understood my post or else you wouldn't have replied to it. Not everybody reads at a 3rd grade level like you, they've listened to the album, they realize that there are actually periods after every song title
>>
>>72268797
yup that's exactly how it works. this isn't the first time a work of art has had a stylized title. but that's now how it's recorded in library listings because when you search for something you search for only the name, not some fancy symbols that make the title "deep".

t. worked in a library
>>
itt autists argue about punctuation

its not a perfect album OP but its got some good shit
>>
>>72268321
you will also find that for 3 songs he did not do that
>>
>>72268825
So I'm incorrect for calling song titles the way they're listed on the fucking platform I listen to them on. That's actually the most backwards thing I've ever heard in my life. Neck yourself
>>
I didn't delete any because I'm not a pleb and I respect the album as a format for art

I'm only here yo educate you. for the future, if you want to know how to properly label things for your iTunes, go to wikipedia (which is functionally a library) and see how it's listed there. that is the correct form. everyone in here thinks I'm being autistic but this is literally S.O.P. for organization
>>
>>72268880
>XXX and DNA are weak
DNA is commonly referred to as one of the best songs on the album and XXX is by far the most underrated song on the album. It got shit on because of the U2 feature which is minor and insignificant.
>>
>>72268886
So if I go onto /mu/ from now on, let's say I just listened to an album, before I say anything about the tracks on that album I should promptly head over to the library of the internet, the shitbox of wikipedia, and make sure I'm getting those track names right and I'm not using the "stylized" version. That's retarded, yes.
Also you are autistic, FTR

>>
>Kendrick interview with Rick Rubin
>constant mentioning of DNA
>>
love is unironically the best track on there even if its still a drake b-side.

Im glad kendrick finally fell off with that decent 7.
The second he tried to do his yeesus, it ended up being worse.
>>
DAMN. is an easy 10/10
>>
>>72269304
This isn't experimental so how is it Yeezus? Also how can you say a drake b-side is the best song on the record.
>>
>>72269279
the mistake you and everyone else rn (including memegenius) is making rn is that you think this is a concept album.

the songs aren't unified by a specific theme that gains context throughout. if that were true, the point of the album would be that kendrick is actually jewish.

treat the song you would any other artist's: as a piece of what they have done and where they could be going artistically.

kendrick is coming to terms with his guilt of not living up to his saintly public image. he's had success and wants to gloat about it. those two, in his mind, contradict each other. but they make him who he is.

that's really it
>>
>>72269222
I'll arm wrestle you bitch
>>
>>72269343
>This isn't experimental
Are you joking right now?
This is his most experimental album yet.

Because its hs most focused track even if its just mediocre. Kendrick trying to be deep or provide """"wisdom"""" is insufferable.

Thats why GKMC is his pinnacle album.
>>
>>72269384
different anon, but how can you have working ears and say Damn is more experimental than Butterfly?
>>
>>72268291
this
>>
I thought of all Kendrick's albums this was the one that worked best as a complete work.
All the songs felt essential.
>>
>>72269405
Thundercat isnt experimental, its just jazzy funk with samples thats been done a thousand times over. I dont know why kendrick fans think its such a groundbreaking album. I liked it better on S80 with rigamortis anyway.
>>
>>72269435
love and loyalty felt essential? lul

None of them, at least not yet. On the contrary, I can't stop listening to this album. Sure there are some songs I like less than others, but every song has enjoyable elements that supersede that dislike, if that makes sense.

On a semi-related note, there's a lot of places on this album that strike a chord in me, one such example being FEAR. That first note and the sampled singing give me this nostalgic feeling, and the first verse is like a time machine to my childhood when I lived in the ghetto. It really does something to me
