Why? RZA/s production is arguably lazy and although GZA and the Wu-Tung in general are good lyricists, their are so many rappers/groups just as good with more interesting sounds.

Not the biggest fan of the rest of his work, but this album's on a whole different level

It's combination of conscious Hip Hop, Jazz, Soul, Blues, and stories about paranoia, love, and the loss of innocence were ahead of its' time.

You can hear its' influence in so many of the great Hip Hop records today, including both TPAB and GKMC.

People who select liquid swords over the purple tape have no right to listen to rap music. OB4CL is the finest Wu-tang album ever crafted. The only reason liquid swords gets so much shine on this website (other than it being a masterpiece) is because it's baby's first solo wu album and p4k gave it a 10.

OB4CL is the mission statement for east coast hip hop. It is the Iliad of rap. It's a movie. It's so fucking good that it's basically a greatest hits compilation. Ghost and Rae prove that they are the finest storytellers in rap and the way they complement each other on this album never stops shocking me. Holy fuck. I'm so glad plebs continue creating these threads just so I can post this album and re-listen to this shit for the 911th time.
