but I thought /mu hated anything with melody. In /mu's and every other music snob's eyes anything with a good, catchy melody is pop crap.
They might not have a virtuoso-like quality to them as far as the execution but Panda Bear has some amazing vocal harmonies and the production is great as well

holy shit
Panda Bear is one man and Queen's choir-like vocal harmonies are largely done in the studio.
Are we just talking about artists who have released recordings with great harmonies?

yes
Active Child draws on his childhood choir singing in his own music. Lots of vocal harmonies to be found.

alright I will listen to one queen album. what should I listen to? I remember listening to A Night at the Opera and liking it alright but the car song really annoyed me

Queen II if you like harder rock. A Day at the Races if you like the lighter stuff with more of the vocal layering Queen became known for.

I was gonna say A Night at the Opera, that's their best.
Listen to Innuendo if you want to listen to something else.

Uriah Heep. Queen were actually very influenced by their approach to overdubbed vocal harmonies.

None of this really holds a candle to anime music.
