TRIGGERED

Agreed. Really the only song that's out of place on an otherwise fine album
>>72178592
I respectfully disagree.
This Year's Model is probably the best thing Elvis Costello ever released.

Not even I Don't Want to Go to Chelsea?

I'm sure it is his best album. I'm just not a fan of his music I guess. Radio Radio is fantastic though.
>>72178853
True that is a decent song. Just lyrically most of the album is love songs. I don't care if its an "interesting take on love songs" they're still lame love songs.
When you're making vocal pop music where the instruments are often in the back seat, you better have some interesting lyrical content.

you mean LOYALTY. the shitty beyond imagine "let's sell some albums" track tossed in there.
>>72178857
Well at least we can agree on Radio Radio but maybe you should give the album one more chance especially songs like No Action and You Belong to me and to a lesser extent The Beat Lip Service and This Year's Girl. But the whole album is GOAT in my opinion.

Love songs? I find that point of view rather perverse. I guess I can understand how some people might interpret the music contained herein as "Love songs" but to my ears these songs are about anger sexual frustration and jealousy. (And even a little creepy stalking at times not unlike The Police's Every Breath You Take)
this one is his best

I've never heard anyone say that Elvis' lyrics are uninteresting before. I find the best way to enjoy the music in this album is to focus on what the rhythm section is doing, because it's always amazing.

his most quintessential album
