Why'd trance die as a genre anyway? Was it because it was unable to separate itself from the retarded drug subculture?
>>72161688
no it just slowly lost relevance

Here's some epic trance. Not that I'm calling it epic, in the literal sense that's what this subgenre was called.

Everybody wanted more serious, depressing dance music lol

it was never popular in the cities I partied in, and I always that it was pretty terrible outside of the earlier acid sounding stuff (92-92ish). However, in the late 90's when "raves" and partying blew up huge, movies were being made about it, news reports about parties were happening, Trance was the music most associated with it.

I will also add, big beat stuff from yerup. Talking radio shit like A.T.C. Dj Sammy, Tiesto, Darude, Alice Deejay.
All had songs playing on top 40 radio.
In the Detroit/Toledo area there were stations that only played soft versions of bigbeat that hedged on the sound of trance.

Given the rise of electronic music in the american mainstream over the last 6-7 years, i hope history repeats itself. It was one of the later electronic genres after house/dub/electro. IF it does happen, its gonna happen within 10 years
i think this remix is honestly more trancy than the original but then it makes sense given the guy who did it

Trance is very much alive, it has a big scene here in New York. Unfortunately the tunes played are new school trash mostly. There's some classic events that was worth going to though.

For sure. Back when trance was trance.
Nice tunes btw

Trance can never actually be about putting people into a trance ever again as attention spans are shorter than ever. Its impossible for electronic music to ever be good again.
There will only be bass drop shit forever.
