i think theyre great and enjoy all their works sans Total Devo which is boring
however the stuff they were doin from 74 to 77 is beyond anything ive heard

Their stuff is all about their theory of social de-evolution. Their stuff is satirical and songs like Whip It were purposefully trite...most think they are just a pop group but they knew what they were doing. They believe that the only way to effectively get a message across is through subversion instead of rebellion, which is why they went new wave pop and abandoned their early art punk aesthetic
