Really? Out of their 3 most recent albums this is the one I can easily listen to all the way through
>>72140362
To be kind is more accessible imo
Anyway, easily on the top 10 of the decade

To Be Kind is definitely more accessible, but I find myself skipping over a lot of songs on repeat listenings. The Seer grabs me every time.

>The Seer grabs me every time.
it feels like i'm traveling somewhere. like when you take a road at night and it goes through a really wooded area with no houses. you see a few animals, maybe a deer or too, but your the only human for as far as you can see. it's my favorite of the last three swans albums.

Amen, it's also one of those albums where the song order is just perfect. The combination of the Wolf and the Seer Returns is one of my all time favorites.

For me the album is like a fever dream that ends up in a terrifying pagan forest ritual (those weird-ass long tracks at the end).
The Glowing Man has the same effect but it feels like I'm disintegrating and becoming one with God or something.

the track listing is so great. starting the second half with song for a warrior was a great decision

i love your descriptions dude
I wish the percussion was harder hitting.
On Swans Are Dead, the percussion is so insanely satisfying, but on the Seer, specifically the title track, it feels dampened and muddled.
TBK seems to be the preferred album on /mu/, but The Seer, to me, is much more cohesive and seems more 'organic' (I realise this is a buzzword, but I can't think of a better term). Essentially, the whole thing flows perfectly. Even the shorter pieces are perfectly placed and conceived. When I listen to, say, "Some Things We Do" on TBK, it sounds kind of forced, like a band trying to be Swans rather than just being Swans. "Song for a Warrior" sounds more authentic and fits better within the context of the album. Anyway, Seer>TBK>Glowing Man (it's shit)
