what should i listen to guys? only just started getting into music
considering every single album on this chart is garbage, you can basically start everywhere you want, it'll be an improvement
go /mu/core
holy shit this contains all the albums i grew out of
>>72140053
i listened to most of the /mu/core chart but it just sounds pretentious drivel, only album i liked was spiderland by slint i thought that was really clever and inventive with their instrumentation, the rest is mostly uninspired garbage
>>72140083
LMFAO best thread I've seen on /mu/ for a while

Listen to your parents and your teachers. Study hard and try and get good grades. Sarcastically slumping through school like it's some hurdle "the man" is forcing you to jump over is an unimaginative and lazy reaction to the opportunity society has given you to make the world a better place and to achieve personal fulfilment.
Oh and try listening to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band or something idc.

not on /mu/!
look for music that is relevant to your interests or your outlook on life.
leave this shitty board if you don't plan to be the embodiment of a hivemind of 14 year olds unironically listening to top 40 pop music, trap and surface level underground pop yet see themselves as experts in musical taste.
your best bet is to go the traditional route - through exploring the musicians that worked on stuff you like, looking up their influences, exploring bordering genres and the less well known examples of those, using youtube/last.fm/discogs/rateyourmusic but not taking musical reviews too seriously be they from legitimate critics or internet nobodies.
maintain your arrogance: you know what's best for you, so explore your taste and spit in the face of people who tell you your taste sucks!
>>72140124
studying gets you nowhere, experience is what you need in this day and age

Here's a chart to get you started, I don't recommend going through them all at once though, and listen to most of the artists discographies, they usually feature albums that are just as good if not better (for example, many may argue the Talking Head's 77' is just as good as Fear of Music and Remain in Light).
With that being said, seeing as I jokingly made a chart just like that to troll a chart-thread in the past I find it very difficult to tell if its genuine. You're an obvious britbong (hence Catfish), if you want pointers then certainly try the following if you haven't already;
>Blur (Discography).
>Oasis (Definitely Maybe to the Masterplan, don't bother with any album after).
>Massive Attack (Discography).
>Radiohead (Discography, though skip Pablo Honey and try The Bends first).
Those discographies may be somewhat frowned upon on /mu/ as they are very well known on the board although they are also very highly acclaimed and everyone more or less agrees that Massive Attack and Radiohead are nothing short of amazing, don't let music become a form of expression on your own part though, you are not what you listen to.
>>72140039
why did you put in all this effort for a fake chart
