Post artists that peaked too early

This Old Dog is his best album.

OP in bed
>>72139911
making half-assed generic jangle pop songs and being 'relevant' only because of your le goofy persona is 'peaking'? woah
>>72139963
>half-assed
>generic
Elaborate?
Alexisonfire
Blink 182
New found glory
Gorillaz
Moby
Eminem
Pink Floyd
Supertramp
that whole argument is wrong

Violent Femmes. Their first album is a masterpiece. Their second album is great too. Everything after that is terrible.
Pixies. Three great albums, 2 mediocre ones, and then just hot garbage.
PiL. 3 great albums and then some of the worst music I have ever heard, just fucking terrible. It's honestly the worst case of an artist going from great to garbage that I can think of.
>>72139924
fuck off mac it has a couple good songs and the rest is trash
>>72140489
>PiL
when does it get bad, like really fucking catastrophically bad?

ST is love, ST is life
I really want to like new Bloc Party but I can't. Silent Alarm is top-notch though.

As far as I'm concerned everything after the Flowers of Romance is terrible. I've tried listening to most of their albums after that and I can't stomach it. I'm always one to listen to albums all the way through but I turned most of them off because it upset me on an emotional level that they could get that terrible. Like I understand what they were going for but the music just isn't good. A lot of people love their later albums but I just fucking hate them. And it truly sucks because their first 3 albums are masterpieces as far as I'm concerned.

Is it out yet?
>>72139911
Recently revisited 2 in its entirety the other day and realized it's mac's most cohesive project (pacing/track listing is near perfect). This board gives his le goofball persona a lot of shit but that doesn't mean you should just disregard this entire album
>>72140834
Exactly the same here
>>72139963
He probably meant it as a commercial peak if he isn't a retard
>>72140123
Do your ears not work?

He's right.
weezer
Duh.
>>72139911
I bet his tween fans didn't even know what the album cover is referencing. I guess they can always ask their parents.

by far
Black Sabbath
Aerosmith
Kiss
Van Halen

Who let /r/music in here?
Iggy Pop. Holy god, Iggy Pop.
Alice Cooper
Jdjdjhdhdhdudhududhdjd
Mariah Carey was only good on the first two albums and then lost it with Music Box, which was the work of her husband at the time, who wanted the album to sound like Celine Dion. After that, she went off the rails by going for a teenybopper R&B sound instead of the MOR ballads on her first couple of albums.
Chvrches. Their first is great the b sides too

>>72143322
The only acceptable non-butty artists on that list are Black Sabbath and Devo.
>>72143338
Disagree. Iggy didn't ever really "peak" he is just the most wildly inconsistent artist ever. He's extremely hit or miss. Post Pop Depression was great though.
>>72139911
how exactly does a milquetoast indie pop artist "peak"? doesn't that kinda defeat the purpose of being intentionally mediocre and lazy?
The United States of America.
I don't know if it's really appropriate to say they "peaked too early" since they only had one album, but the band had plenty of potential and the subsequent Joe Boyd solo albums are really disappointing.
>>72143006
Sorry, I'm dumb and don't know, what is it referencing?

Only if you're a nu-male shithead
>>72140834
They're incredibly inconsistent. Still, Four was their best album in my opinion.
>>72143167
They were just talentless hacks who happened to show up at the right time to ride the wave of popularity from 'This Is It'
>>72145331
Except it sounds nothing like Is This It and TOTBL is 10 times better.
Unfortunate for Dan, since everything he does will be compared to Deathconciousness.
