I prefer their first two albums overall, but I have a soft spot for Americana, and I admire your bravery for saying this.

does this count?
>>72138986
not really
>>72136664
some people might not see this as punk but imo it is as good as punk gets before it evolves into pop
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKsN5cj9ehs
also some of the tracks are about the troubles in Ireland and how they didn't want external forces dictating them so some of you /pol/lacks might appreciate the sentiment
>>72136689
>>72137168
Exceptional taste
>>72136719
Black flag, dead Kennedys, the list could go on
GOAT
>>72136664
One of my favorite albums of all time
I don't have a single favorite but this is one that deserves to be mentioned
>>72139637
Raw Power is slightly better desu

Love this album. Really weird lo fi punk shit is great
>>72138986
No. It is one of the greatest post punk albums though.
>>72137842
Damn, listened to Western Settings on repeat this week. Got any similar recommendations?

>>72142305
NOFX sucks donkey dick

Cro-Mag's debut, OOOGH
>>72142429
Fat Mike is a poser, and a terrible musician. They produce shitty pop punk. Every Fat Wreck Chords band has the same sound. Only band on that label worth a shit is Me First, but only because some of their music is actually enjoyable, but they belong on a better record label.
In short, fuck Fat Mike, fuck NOFX, and fuck Fat Wreck Chords
>>72142523
Let's be fair, NOFX is some of the best pop punk you're going to hear. It sounds like you're just another purist that denies genre spectrums and spouts "punker than thou" when they detect pop/melodic elements
So much shitty hardcore garbage ITT.
>>72140772
Good
>>72142523
I can agree that some of the newer stuff is pretty lame, but fat mike is DEFINITELY not a poser. I'm sure you're probably not interested but I'd read their new book if I were you. It tells all about their past starting from like age 10, and you can tell that Fat Mike was always in it for the music
I've been listening to this recently.
>>72142607
Nothing wrong with pop punk, NOFX is just generic as fuck.
>>72142662
I know all about how he's a massive punk fan and how he helps out punk bands and is very much a diy dude, but his whole schtick is so phony. Like everything about him seems fake as fuck, from the way he dresses down to the way he acts. It's like he isn't his own person at all.
>>72142787
This guy gets it. NOFX is Hot Topic-tier "punk"
>>72142787
If it is fake then I'm impressed, cause he's been doing it for a long ass time. I think he's just genuinely a gross human being
>>72142774
that album kicks ass
90s punk and dirt bike/skateboard videos are so fucking comfy, man.

>>72142826
That's not punk that's alternative rock
>>72140772
this is such a fucking good album
>>72143065
borderline, punk enough for this thread
>>72142871
ma nigga, this is gold
>>72141091
Except it's not. It's not even a Stooges record.
>>72140906
I just got these in the mail today!
>all the shit music in this thread
poor showing desu
>>72143083
it's really not
>>72139106
and the shilling continues...
>>72143149
>not even a Stooges record
What. The only member that was replaced was Dave Alexander. Ron and Scott Asheton were still playing on it, with Ron as the bassist, and James Williamson on guitar. And honestly James Williamson is a better guitarist than Asheton, and that's saying something.
The quality of songs is more consistent on Raw Power, the guitar riffs are better, and the energy is higher. Funhouse is a great record but Raw Power is their best.

>No one has posted the undeniable GOAT punk album yet
>>72143527
Everything you said is wrong. TV Eye has more energy than anything on Raw Power
>>72143480
But it's good.
punk, not disco
>>72143599
(You) must be fun at parties
>>72143686
Your Pretty Face is Going To Hell has more energy than TV Eye. As does Shake Appeal.
Also lol, everything I said in my first paragraph was factual

I agree that it's shit, don't see why it's so acclaimed

how is it not punk? I understand that it doesn't have the same sound as punk albums that set the trend, but still.
Operation Ivy- Energy

punk with rock surgically removed
>>72136664
There were some demos released by a band called Shrapnel that are in the UK that I like a lot on YouTube, they're trying to make an album this year just look up Shrapnel Demos on youtube
>>72145094
lmao what, the original lineup hasn't existed since 1976, the only consistent member has been Greg Ginn.
>>72144756
Patrician taste.
Mark Prindle?
>>72144900
This and Smash
>>72145144
Sleaford Mods have more in common with Post Punk and Hip Hop.
>>72145174
>he doesn't know I mean the Damaged, Wound Up, and My War era
>>72145183
I use to listen to smash when I was going to sleep, and right as I was in that sleep where you're barely awake, that bonus track like ten minutes in to last song would play and fuck my shit up. Ill always have room for that album.
>>72145203
still are mostly punk
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vc_6SCpTtjU
>>72145114
What do this then?
>>72145221
Fuck I put Wound Up instead of Slip It In
