Hey /mu/, im new to recording in general, and i need a daw thats more suited for beginners and live instrumental recordings. Any suggestions? Or are you all fruity loops cucks who cant play an instrument?

You might want to unironically use Audacity.

ableton live is perfect and intuitive when it comes to recording and manipulating live audio.

I hear good things about albeton. Im just afraid its going to be beyond me like pro tools.
>>
just use REAPER. it has an indefinite free-trial that doesn't limit you in any way and is perfect for both live instruments & midi. Been using it for years, very simple to learn and in-depth
>>
Reaper, it's the only affordable DAW with solid performance.
>>
I use fruity loops to record instruments. You just have to click the "arm for recording" button on the mixer channel you have your mic or cable's input set to. I didn't know that for a long time though, and I tried recording through edison, which was very tedious, but FL's actually fine for audio recording if you know how to do it.
If you don't need any of the MIDI features it would seem pointless to get it though. I've heard good things about reaper, but otherwise I'm pretty clueless, unless you have enough shekels for pro tools.

garageband or logic are very, very user friendly and it also serves as a good basis to understand what a Daw is.

michael cera and alex g both use garageband
