To plebs, soundtracks for the blind is just "muh long ass spoopy album", but it is actually a philosophical portrait of life being lived under the threat of nuclear war in post modern society.
At least kids today care about preventing nuclear war. Used to be it was just a threat and people accepted it as "This is life from now on"

With the upbeat tempo and Jonathan Higgs' lilting voice, it's easy to mistake this for an optimistic, fun pop album, until you actually listen to the lyrics and realize he's singing about some seriously heavy stuff. Just the first track is about a beheading, for example. It's pretty incredible, actually.

>"We had this idea in mind that someone quite innocently would come along to a record store and see [the record] and think they would be getting 20 really good jazz/funk greats, and then they would put it on at home and they would just get decimated."
that was how Cosey phrazed it. I wouldn't know, I've never actually listened to it, or anything by TG for that matter
>turned by a ladybug

A Crow Looked At Me

I really don't think that, especially since most of the music is improvised and the lyrics are half about stuff he thought would sound cool in a song (The Seer, Toussaint L'Ouverture for example)

can you explain that?
