I started with Good Kid m.a.a.d City and I'd recommend the same.
Just go to your local ghetto, they will give you a good sampling.
In all honesty Madvillainy

Okay, so if you want the truth, most rap is absolute shit. The american rap and hiphop scene goes to absolute dogshit after the 90s, and if you want anything decent you need to listen to foreign beat makers who allow artists to use their beats. They are extremely picky over who can officially rap over their stuff, especially the japanese.

Try Kanye, any of his album except The Life of Pablo or Yeezus. If you really are not into Hip-Hop try The Collegue Dropout or Late Ragistration(Both very accesible and easy to start). If you have something in mid about Hip-Hop, Go for MBDTF.
Also, this is the Flowchart that helped me alot to really get into Hip-Hop
