Eno used all sorts of random sounds in this album. Like many of the early synth players he had no musical training and was basically just playing random sounds.

the dadaist concept of the readymade is related to Eno's appropriation of pop cliches, which would see fruition in my life in the bush of ghosts where he justs samples stuff direcctly

it's also an absurd pastiche of different styles

Painting With doesn't belong at all, White Album isn't really Dada (all the songs have messages and reasons for being, even Revolution 9 is just an anti-war collage), I don't get why Aphex Twin is on here, Eno doesn't belong.

Also, Frank Zappa-Lumpy Gravy could probably replace Absolutely Free. It's the most Dada album of all time.

On the album you can hear a mix of Indian Raga, hip hop beats, laid back Beefheart poetry, backwoods folk, all clashing together with little rhyme or reason. Some of the time it sounds like radio friendly alt rock, but most of the time it doesn't.

The Beach Boys recorded the album using what was predominantly radio broadcasting equipment which was lacking many technical elements and effects found in conventional studios. This led to unconventional ways of achieving particular sounds at the home, such as a replacement for what would be achieved by an echo chamber. Jim Lockert, engineer for Smiley Smile recalled "Brian's swimming pool had a leak in it and was empty, so we put a microphone in the bottom of this damn near Olympic-size pool and the guys laid down inside the pool and sang so the sound would go down the wall of the concrete pool into the microphone – and that was part of the vocals on one of those songs",[nb 2] and has spoken out about other peculiarities of the sessions which include vocals being tracked in the shower. I think De-Loused shouldn't have been taken off. Lyric wise, the whole theme of this album was evoking emotion and telling a story using complete nonsense that felt like it should do so, which is dada as fuck.
While definitely not completely without defined meaning, the instrumentation often uses random sound collages to further its themes as well
