Somebody post the nu-male essential chart
>>71903547
Heavy Metal is just a ripoff of the Genesis genre.
>>71903547
no, just realized that there are other genres that express feelings of isolation, anger, fear, horror, etc, just a lot better. There's good metal that I still listen to, I just don't praise it as being the best genre that escapes all of the flaws that more popular genres face like most metal heads do.

I started learning about music history and classical music in middle school so I was never impressed by metal. Some of it is alright, most of it is shit. The defining feature of the genre is its timbre so it has no real appeal beyond that and even at its best, it's only repeating innovations that have already been done. Prog rock with down syndrome.

This. I've gone years without listening to much metal, but I've always come back to it. Never shunned bands I once listened to and loved to purport some image of maturity.

Never got into it, got ton of friends that got obsessed with it in high school and they either drifted out of it or they kept listening to the exact same shit over and over 10 years later.

I'm 25 and still listen to it. It's a great genre that is filled with various interesting bands, but the shit ones are also there, too, as is in any genre. Say what you will, but no other genre has better riffs than metal.
was never autistic enough to grow into it

Grew out of nu-metal and hard butt-rock at 16. That stuff got just a bit overplayed during sporting events.

lol. Metalheads always go into such a sad panic after they get BTFO. Your genre is not the manly intellectual powerhouse you think it is; it's for edgy teens.
